Job Coach
A Great Opportunity/ Community Based (Westerville)/ Part-Time Flexibility needed
The Job Coach is responsible to supervise and train individuals with disabilities to acquire the skills needed to perform specific tasks, work routines and personal life habits that are critical to successful volunteer experiences. The Job Coach will assist the individual in performing the work responsibilities in a way that fosters independence, develops natural supports, and helps to ensure retention. This position will interact with all individuals served in a way that respects the unique needs of all involved and provides meaningful outcomes. Responsibilities may include:
  • Notify supervisor and/or management team of all pertinent information regarding individuals served.
  • Ensure thorough and complete orientation of assigned individuals served.
  • Provide coaching, training and development to individuals served on an on-going basis.
  • Foster a teamwork environment among employees.
  • Respect the rights and confidentiality of the individuals served and ensure they are met.
  • As assigned, provide pre-employment services such as teaching classes in a group setting, building and maintaining curriculum that meets regulatory standards and creating lesson plans.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisor(s)/management.
  • Provide daily job skills training or classes with a focus on the ultimate goal of community employment and integration.
  • Attend meetings regarding individuals served, providing input and follow-up as needed

Requirements for this position include:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Driver's License and being comfortable travelling throughout the day is required
  • A college degree in a related field or two years experience within the field of special education, developmental disabilities, or in a youth-centered field is preferred.
  • Professional, responsible, mature, and flexible.
  • Knowledge of food industry, retail, and hospitality services preferred.
  • Professionally maintain daily documentation.
