Job Title: Director, Software Development


Introduction:

The Director, SW Development will be responsible for leading multiple teams of highly experienced direct reports, including teams of Engineering Managers, Software Architects, Software Engineers, Automation Engineers, Test Engineers and Development Project Managers, towards the development and support of TGCS strategic products for the worldwide retail market. The Director will be responsible for the conception, design, development, test, lifecycle and support of multiple software solutions for an assigned region. The Director will provide subject matter expertise and team leadership skills to multiple missions. The Director will also be a leader of the cross-functional team responsible for planning, developing and releasing the software solutions to the market. They will develop and nurture key relationships with product management, business partners, services, finance, procurement and other supporting groups to ensure the timely release of solutions


Responsibilities:

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise and oversee several Missions. Delivery of high-quality product releases and functionality. Successfully manage and coordinate complex, multi-phased programs by guiding cross-functional teams and business partners to define, scope, plan, and deliver high-quality software products
  • Collaborate with Internal Leadership, TTEC Executive Leadership and other internal Business leaders to plan, develop and execute the Software Products strategy in concert with multiple cross-functional teams. Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance and compliment Software Strategies
  • Promote continuous process improvement and sound software engineering practices across a global team that will enable the development and support of an innovative product. Ensuring Agile practices are applied and followed. Identify and resolve problems, gaps, and challenges in engineering processes.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all project activities, schedule, and status. Ensuring proper communication on development deliverables as appropriate up through executive management levels within the organization
  • Enabling the sharing of best practices across a global development team. Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability for departmental and cross-functional teams.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with 12+ years of related, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in managing software development teams and projects.
  • 6+ years people management experience including performance management, motivation, career development and dealing with conflict.
  • 10+ years managing software development projects.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in multiple engineering disciplines across Software Development, Quality Assurance and Professional Services, leading teams of Software Development and Quality Assurance
  • Strong analytic and logical problem-solving skills, collaborative and teaming skills.
  • Possess a level of comfort to work “in the weeds” with technical software development teams, as well as at a portfolio level with high-level executives.
  • 6+ years of experience in Agile development.
  • Product knowledge in the area of Retail and Point-of-Sale applications will be a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English
  • Strong Domain Knowledge of Retail Products and Solutions
  • Proven track record managing teams and implementing innovative strategies and programs.
  • Possess critical thinking to evaluate complex strategies and develop recommendations.
  • Executive Stakeholder Management & Influencing Skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen for managing diverse & global staff and global third-party vendors
  • Ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering and developing productive relationships with leadership across the business and vendor relationships.
  • Proven experience in achieving operational excellence and developing end-to-end procedures with a keen ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
  • Possess strong consulting skills and the ability to quickly assess situations, identify gaps and possible solutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad group of stakeholders in order to foster trust and influence key decisions; collaborate, address conflict and resolve issues on a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize activities and work on multiple projects at once.
