Overview:
The Director of Practice Operations in Santa Fe is responsible and accountable for all administrative aspects of Presbyterian Medical Group (PMG) assigned practices/locations.

This director will be involved in the following:
  • Leads strategic, tactical and CQI planning.
  • Oversees implementation and ongoing measure of same.
  • Collaborates with Lead Physician, Clinical Managers, and Clerical Supervisor to ensure sites provide high quality, cost-effective care.
  • Responsible for the performance and accountability of the PMG Clinics.
  • Accountable for the financial performance of designated sites.
  • Accountable for customer service.
  • Serves as a support and liaison to providers.
  • Provides Administrative oversight of all PMG physicians in assigned departments in conjunction with Lead Physician(s), program directors and managers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business or Healthcare required.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Five to ten years of progressive management experience.
  • Prior Director level experience.
  • Experience in clinical operations oversight.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily operations of PMG Clinics in SFMC and Saint Michaels locations.


  • Provide direction and complete an annual long term strategic plan for the operations noted above.
  • Serve as a member of the SFMC Senior Administrative Teams.


  • Coordinate operations and planning with SFMC, PMG and PHS management.


  • Coordinate operations with SFMC and RDS Nursing Executives.


  • Provides leadership and direction for areas of responsibility to include financial performance, PHS strategy and tactics, and patient safety.


  • Coordinates the development of operational and financial goals and plans for areas of responsibility and facilitates monitoring progress toward achievement.


  • Responsible for the daily operations and financial performance of the assigned PMG sites/locations, including administrative focus for the service across the insurance, primary care, specialist, and aftercare continuum.


  • Teaches and leads Quality and customer service processes. Involves the physicians and staff in improving daily operations of the program. Is accountable for same.


  • Develops and is accountable for strategic planning, JCAHO, patient safety initiatives and financial outcome of designated sites. This includes leading, planning and budgeting processes and accountabilities for budget administration and outcomes.


  • Develops new programs and services, as care delivery needs change in collaboration with other ambulatory managers as well as members of the PMG administrative leadership team.


  • Develops education plan for self and collaborates with clinical and clerical teams to develop education plan for individuals and the team.


  • Works Collaboratively with associated inpatient Directors and managers, when applicable.


  • Exercise sound working relationships with members of the Medical Staff, Office of Medical Staff Affairs and PMG Administration.


  • Accountable for directing the clerical supervisor so that there is data integrity at designated sites and coordination between the front desk and the billing office.


  • Collaborates with Lead Physicians to assure optimal program operations.


  • Responds to client's needs, assures patient satisfaction is met and that complaints are handled and resolved.


  • Participates/networks/communicates with internal and external customers and project teams.
  • Responsible for orientation, education and documentation of all employee files. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department.


  • Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and initiates/makes recommendations for personnel actions.


  • Ensures department compliance with PHS/ hospital established policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains JCAHO guidelines, state licensure, legal and ACR guidelines. Participates in Performance Improvement.
  • Analyzes and reports fiscal activity, makes recommendations and/or takes appropriate action to reduce the cost of providing services.


  • Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, workflows, goals and objectives. Ensures departmental accountability and customer satisfaction. Communicates pertinent information with employees.


  • Directs the maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.


  • Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as required or directed.


  • Performs other functions as required.
