Job Title: Assistant Director of Plant Operations
Physical Location: Philadelphia, PA
Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:

Assists in Managing Plant Engineering and Maintenance Departments, including Facilities Management functions. Administers corrective/preventive program. Collaborates with Engineering/Energy Management Staff with objective to maintain a safe and optimally functional facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Continuously institutes staff training, continuing education opportunities to assure staff is current in Facilities operations.

Provides direct supervision for Engineering/Maintenance and Grounds.

Coordinate the procurement of supplies to maintain facilities as well as equipment and services from outside companies in accordance with Policy.

Participates in the development of annual operating and capital budgets and recommends expenditures as needed.

Maintains Departmental reports, records and collects statistical data for Administrative and regulatory purposes.

Collaborates with various Departments to facilitate projects on campus. The duty involves scheduling appropriate staff to meet the need of project or event, ensuring that all facility components are appropriately set.

Utilizes computerized work order data base system to input work requests on a daily basis.

Manage climate control utilizing building automation control system as it applies to Operations.

Maintain inventory of equipment, tools and consumables.

Collaborate with Security and Public Safety Department to conduct fire drills and other Life Safety inspections and tests.

Responds to after hour and weekend emergency calls involving Facility needs, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education
High School diploma, technical training, as well as management course work, BA in Management preferred in lieu of experience.

Experience
5 years Supervisory experience as well as experience in Facility Operations

Physical Demands
Frequent standing and walking. Considerable stooping, bending and crouching. Ability to climb ladders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $112,107.00 per year
