The
Director of Openings will directly lead all new Hotel and Restaurant Openings, as well as support transitions and dispositioning hotels. This individual will coordinate all pre-opening operation activities to include, but not limited to, all pre-opening check lists, OSE budget creation and specification, mastery of brand standards and implementation. Position acts as main point of contact to Ownership on behalf of the management company and pre-opening team, responsible for project management in pre-development, Brand Coordination and on site opening and training.
Job Functions Include:
- Direct Hotel General Manager and transition team through opening date
- Creation and Coordination of New Hotel Critical Path and strategy to execute a successful operation
- Creation and implementation of opening checklists, direct communication from company to ownership regarding milestones, responsible for setting property up for operational success
- Creation and implementation of multi week Property Training Matrix including system training, culture training and live/practical training
- Audit and implement all brand standards relative to the property to ensure that they are kept to the expected guidelines
- Assist Design Department with execution of Model Room reviews
- Assist Technical Services/Design Department with all back of house programming
- Assist Openings and Renovations with selection and procurement of OSE package
- Creating and implementing opening Training Schedule and managing Logistics
- Creating, managing and presenting Pre-Opening Budgets
Essential Qualifications
- Extensive Operational experience with rooms ,F&B and ownership communication
- GM Experience Preferred
- Experience with several hotel/restaurant openings and/or transitions.
- 4-year degree in Hospitality Management preferred
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Self-Leader who is highly motivated and flexible, possessing the ability to take initiative, to succeed while under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be a cultural ambassador of the Hotel Brands
- Confident decision-making skills
