Northwood Health Systems is adding to its executive management team. The Director of I/DD Services acts as a key decision-maker in all aspects of business operations for one of the state’s largest community mental health centers, including operational oversight, financial forecasting, budget management and business development. The successful candidate will oversee an operation employing over 200 people with 25 residential programs, 4 day treatment programs, and a case management department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for business operations serving adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD)
  • Drive the planning, development and launch of new programs and services to meet community needs and the company’s mission/goals
  • Develop strong customer and community relationships to expand and develop the company’s reputation and footprint throughout a five county service area
  • Directly supervise employees consisting of program managers, clinicians, and nurses
  • Ensure adequate clinical supervision/oversight by clinical team members
  • Remain current and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of management experience required
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or human services field strongly preferred
  • Proven record of successful people and performance management skills
  • Experience with people with special needs preferred
  • Experience managing new program start-ups
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
