Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This job is not suitable for remote work and is expected to work regular, on-site hours. Travel is required.

Purpose

Provide direction, expertise and recommendations to the Head Coach and leadership team in the Texas Football program on various initiatives associated with on-boarding, programming, and monitoring player development. Serve as the primary liaison between high school coaches and key stakeholders for Texas Football.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a positive network and working relationship with High School Coaches. Serve as the primary liaison for the Texas Football coaching staff with all High School relations. Schedule and facilitate visits, including practice visits, with high school coaches. Remain current and knowledgeable about High School Coaches who attend football related events and programs.
Create and maintain consistent and on-going communication with high school coaches via phone calls, in season weekly newsletter, off season monthly newsletter.
Assist in monitoring initial admission and eligibility of incoming freshman and transfers. Work closely with high school counselors, compliance, and student services to ensure prospects are admissible and academically eligible.
Effectively collaborate and build positive working relationships with various Texas Athletics department support units, including but not limited to, Academic Services and Risk Management & Compliance.
Support and engage in all aspects of personnel and recruiting department initiatives and functions as assigned. Participate in the facilitation and execution of campus tours for official and unofficial visits.
Manage and serve as the primary liaison for High School Coaches Clinics - direct and coordinate events, itineraries, and guest speakers. Includes: Establishing date, communication to coaches, securing guest speakers, and hosting the event.
Participate in hosting and executing elite camps and clinics in collaboration with the football camp director, Athletics Sports Administration and Athletics Human Resources.
Develop relationships with players on the team and serve as a role model/mentor.Act as a mentor and resource for student-athletes, providing guidance and direction as appropriate.
Assist student-athletes as they transition into the college environment. Monitor and assess the needs of student-athletes through regular and frequent check-ins.
Effectively impact and make a positive difference in student-athlete lives by creating mutual respect and establishing discipline and accountability.
Participate in planning and executing functions related to the needs of newly admitted and enrolled student-athletes and transfers including, but not limited to, orientation, ID, direct deposit, housing, parking, testing, communicating with parents/guardians the necessary requirements, schedule and transition plan prior to arrival to campus.

Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a staff member of a high school or Division I collegiate football program. At least 2 years of experience establishing relationships with student-athletes and High School Coaches. Ability to project the image of the University of Texas and the Athletics Department with dignity and grace regardless of circumstances and environments. Professional demeanor. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and audiences. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enhance interaction with student-athletes, peers, alumni, administrative personnel, and the community. Ability to collaborate with staff and provide critical thinking; consultation to achieve positive outcomes. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than 5 years’ experience as a staff member of a high school or Division I collegiate football program. Experience as a student-athlete at the collegiate level in a Division I football program.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
