Position: Director of Global Partnerships, Business Development

Job Description :

Forward Air is seeking a Director of Global Partnerships to develop, maintain and expand the international business relationships. The Director of Global Partnerships works to increase Forward Air Inc.’s profile internationally through multiple channels, establishing creative and unique partnerships around the globe to drive further economic collaboration between Forward Air and its global partners, aiding Forward Air companies in establishing a stronger international brand presence. The Director of Global Partnerships reports to the Vice President of Global Partnerships.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support the VP of Global Partnerships in executing the organizations international sales strategy
  • Interact regularly with Vice Presidents and Directors of Service to ensure customer Service Level Agreements are met
  • Communicate consistently with Vice President(s) of Canada and Mexico to insure transborder opportunities are supported
  • Connect as needed with Airline Logistics, Customs Brokerage, Customer care, Quality, VPs, Field personnel, Ground Handlers and administrative teams to ensure the customer and employee experience are achieved.
  • Partner with legal, pricing and support departments to facilitate customer agreements
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support conferences and customer presentations
  • Assist as liaison to overseas sales agents in developing opportunities for Internationally corporately based companies
  • Attend domestic and overseas trade conferences as requested or required
  • Oversee reporting and other administrative duties required by the Vice President of Global Partnerships and the organization
  • Support the accounting and finance team as needed with collections on delinquent accounts.
  • Develop and motivate Managers of Global Partnerships through effective communication or process where applicable
  • Uncover new opportunities to support Forward Air Corporation lines of business
  • Manage all sales and selling partner relationships to grow at the Company’s plan
  • Manage sales alignment with Managers of Global Partnerships
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with commercial partners at a global scale
  • Report metrics to senior leadership, in a meaningful way, on a regular cadence
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of sales partnership experience and or sales management in the logistics industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or greater in business administration, marketing, technology or related field preferred
  • Successful experience reporting into stakeholders of an organization
  • Experience in working with a sales team that sold to $1M to $1B+ sized clients
  • Must have experience working within multiple channels; most specific to logistics industry preferred
  • Be responsive and manage time effectively through the use of Sales Force, MS Outlook, MS Team, etc.
  • History of successfully identifying and developing multiple strategic partnerships
  • Proven track record of forming strong, strategic alliances
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Have a Driver’s License, cell phone and credit card for travel purposes and expenses (Business related expenses are 100% reimbursed per company policy)

  • Must have ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet numerous deadlines
