Position Summary :

The Director leads and directs all programs and activities associated with Greenleaf Neurodiversity Community Center (Greenleaf NCC). These include our 18+ Transition School program in partnership with Austin ISD, our Social Creativity Clubs, and the Vocational Training we offer as an authorized service provider for Texas Workforce Solutions. The Director plans, organizes, and supervises the day-to-day operations to ensure clients and students develop friendships, social skills, workplace readiness, and a sense of belonging so they can reach their potential in the community, in the workplace, and in life. The position also serves as a public face to key program/funding partners, philanthropic donors, and community leaders in support of all Greenleaf NCC programs and activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide effective management and oversight of all Greenleaf NCC staff, ensuring that appropriate performance and evaluation systems are in place.
  • Create and manage a balanced budget for Greenleaf NCC on an annual basis. Drive accountability to maintain a balanced budget throughout the fiscal year, making changes and course-corrections to the budget as circumstances require.
  • Work with Greenleaf NCC community stakeholders and key program funders to ensure continuity of key business relationships.
  • Lead and support fundraising activities as needed. Promote the Greenleaf NCC mission to philanthropic prospects and donors in the community regularly. Partner with Easterseals’ grant-writer to ensure appropriate pipeline of active foundation prospects is maintained.
  • Recruit volunteers and manage volunteer committees associated with Greenleaf NCC.
  • Plan staff meetings to ensure alignment to organization goals and budgets.
  • Develop a Professional Development Plan that provides training for staff members based on individual and organizational needs.
  • Organize client and family conferences and participate as needed.
  • Ensure that all programs meet and exceed any and all state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Greenleaf NCC in accordance with parent organization policies and administrative regulations, budget limitations, and employee and other contracts.
  • Develop methods toward evaluating program outcomes in support of stated objectives.
  • Establish and maintain an effective learning and working climate, and motivate staff, clients, and students to participate successfully in the learning process.
  • Maintain close contact with all interested parties, including students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Effectively partner with internal staff to develop public relations materials to further the community's understanding and support of all programs.
  • Keep abreast of changes and developments in autism programming and best practices by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
  • Monitor and assure quality treatment for special education, clinical and ancillary service provisions for students from admission to discharge.
  • Supervise the effective utilization of medical and professional consultant personnel.
  • Prepare reports required by law or requested by Easterseals/Fedcap.
  • Is responsible for any other duties in addition to those itemized above as may be designated.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of effective discipline strategies and motivation, curriculum development, and program evaluation.

Experience and Education :

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in nonprofit management, teaching and/or administration and working with adults with autism or related neurodiversities.
