Director Job at Birmingham-Southern College
Birmingham-Southern College has an immediate opening for a Sports Information Director.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics, the Sports Information Director is responsible for all aspects of media and sports information duties for BSC’s 22 athletic teams, including:
- Game day coverage
- Writing press releases and game recaps
- Maintaining the official athletic web site and social media platforms to maximize publicity and public image of Birmingham-Southern athletics
- Working with Sports Information support staff for home athletics contests
- Mentoring interns and student assistants with assigned sports information responsibilities
- Maintaining complete historical records including photography and video archives for the athletics department
- Participating in the planning and preparation for special events such as Hall of Fame Inductions, Homecoming and the Athletics Award Ceremony, and Game Day setup.
- The qualified candidate will have a college degree (or equivalent education, training, and experience) and two to three years of relevant work experience.
