Position Summary
Leads and directs all aspects of Dining Services for Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, and Assisted Living operations. Exemplifies company core values with a focus on quality and excellence in customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Overall responsibilities
- Manage all functions of the food service department and resources
- Operate the department in accordance with the approved budget,
- Ensure the food offered to the residents, guests and employees of the community is of superior quality
- Direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs
- Foster and maintain excellent relationships with residents and guests
- Promote the professional growth and development of the entire team
- Foster strong inter-departmental relations and integrate the dining service department with the facility plan of operations
- Interview, hire, train, discipline and/or discharge staff
- Review and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs
- Manage and comply with Public Health Regulations, and in compliance with Sanitation Code
- Coordinate and manage recipes, menus, productions and service of food, equipment, etc. to enhance the quality of the food service
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars and in-services, to keep abreast of current changes in the health care field, as well as maintain a professional status
- Develop and utilize comprehensive inventory control procedures
