ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for being the primary Food & Beverage contact until management arrives. Verifies schedules, checks deliveries, and carries Food & Beverage cell phone. Provides coverage for any area/server station in the absence of scheduled dining room staff.

YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…

  • In the absence of the Dining Room Manager, supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes and lighting.
  • Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
  • Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met.
  • Records meal counts, reservations, and additional charges. Complete knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Confers with Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
  • Confers with Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding any food, staffing or service issues.
  • Makes morning rounds of Market, Dietary and Kitchen to check staff levels.
  • Provides coffee services for Residents’ events and Administration.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year Host/Hostess or Lead Server experience within fine restaurant, club, hotel, or similar institution.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
  • Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
