Diesel Mechanic Job at Premier Cooperative

Position Summary: Performs and may supervise other employees in the maintenance and repair of all cooperative rolling stock and other equipment as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on all fleet and mobile equipment
  • Updates maintenance files on repairs and maintenance as projects are completed.
  • Recommends purchases and inventories of supplies, parts and tools in order to repair and service fleet and mobile equipment.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification in heavy truck brake repair and maintenance is preferred

Experience:

  • 4 years minimum experience working on Class 1-8 trucks including brake repair
  • 4 years minimum experience in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment including but not limited to front end loaders, skid steers, tractors, trailers, tankers, etc.

Knowledge:

  • Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical problems
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
  • Ability to find resources to aid in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair
  • A complete understanding of our company rules and regulations.

Skills:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on all Cooperative fleet and mobile equipment
  • Update maintenance files and maintain compliance with all D.O.T rules and regulations.
  • Keep work area clean, organized and safe.
  • Provide hand tools to properly perform job requirements.
  • Train and become efficient in the operation and maintenance of railcar movers (track mobiles)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
