The Developmental Disabilities unit in Minot is seeking a new DD Program Manager II. This position provides program management and service coordination for individuals (birth to geriatric) who are eligible to receive developmental disability services so they may gain the skills needed to live more independently in the community.

Each day as a DD Program Manager is different. You will, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, complete Individual Service Plans, identify, assess and collect data, provide access to funding and support services to eligible individuals, and work with a diverse group of people, both co-workers and individual teams along with persons served.

To succeed in this position, you must have a person-first centered approach and be able to convey information accurately, respectfully, and thoroughly to team members, persons served, their legal representative(s) and/or other individuals involved in supporting the goals and dreams of the person served. You must have patience and a knack for maintaining accurate records, performing basic computer skills and entering data into online computer systems. You must be able to organize and manage your time in a way that allows for flexibility to shift priorities.

To be considered for this position, you must have one year of experience as a DD Program Manager I in the ND Department of Human Services or meet the following definition of a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP):

"A person who has at least one year of direct care experience working with persons with a mental illness or a developmental disability

AND has a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the following fields:

social work, psychology, counseling (including addiction counseling), nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, developmental disabilities, child development and family science, communication disorders (includes audiologist or speech pathology),severely multiply handicapped, special education, vocational rehabilitation, sociology, elementary education, recreation therapy, human resource management (human services track), or is a doctor of medicine. (Certification or licensure in one of the above fields is not required for a QDDP designation).”

BOTH paraprofessional and professional level experience working with special population groups in a direct service capacity are given credit.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new hire orientation.

Location:

ND DHHS utilizes a blended workplace model. Depending on the role, employees may work from home, onsite or both. This is a home-based position with the main office located in Minot, ND. The position requires travel within the 7 counties of Region II.
