We are hiring for a Design Engineer. As a Design Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for devising solutions for complex technical problems by applying advanced technical principles and concepts along with a multi-disciplinary approach. This person will serve as a spokesperson on advanced projects, act as an advisor to the engineering community and management, mentor other engineers, and provide input for new work/proposals in the area of expertise. This position is a hybrid (onsite & remote) opportunity. Must be able to commute to the office as necessary for business and meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.

  • Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.

  • Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.

  • Prepares proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Reviews project and budget statuses manages schedules and prepares reports.

  • Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Represents RTX as the primary customer contact for projects.

  • Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

  • Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.

  • Responsible for procurement of appropriate development hardware used for testing and development.

  • Meets program schedules and budgets. Provides input to the integrated master schedule for project(s).

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and less than 12 months of experience

Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Engineering degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering

Demonstrated experience in the areas of cost reduction, weight reduction and producibility a plus.

Knowledge of nacelle and thrust reversers is preferred.

Knowledge/experience with other aircraft structures such as flight control surfaces and/or doors is a plus.

Experience with CATIA CPD is a benefit.
