Dental Assistant Job at Smile Design Dentistry & Braces
Our office has an opening for a dental assistant to support our team. We are seeking an efficient and hardworking individual who has prior dental assisting experience and is comfortable working with patients of all ages. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers, maintain cleanliness of the office and assist the dentist and other staff members in any way possible.
Job Duties:
- Welcome customers in the dental office
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
- Take patients' medical history, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
- Provide Pre/Post OP instructions for oral care following surgery or dental treatment procedures.
- Teach patients oral hygiene to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
- Take impressions of the patient's teeth for study casts (models of teeth).

Desired Profile/Background:
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Clean, neat professional appearance.
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Must be available to work 1 Saturday a month.

Pay: $15.00 - $26.68 per hour
