  • Supervises the department’s day-to-day operations as they relate to Day Service Programing setting and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Overseeing and advocate for the development of each person’s support plan and service outcomes.
  • Ensuring adequate program record keeping; participating in the administration of personnel management (including employment interviews and performance evaluations.)
  • Participating in the training and development of direct support professionals; and working jointly with other team members to assure that person centered support plans are carried out.
  • Assist the Program Assistant Coordinator in coaching and mentoring employees, and follow through with progressive disciplinary actions, as needed.
  • Program Managers will also positively engage employees, work to increase staff morale, and make frequent onsite visits to ensure employees feel supported and competent to carry out their job duties.
  • Familiar with person-centered planning principals and active treatment.

  • Coordinates with Sr. DSP's calendar of activities both facility and community based (including volunteer activities) that build, maintain and/or improve relationships, skills, and independence.
  • Coordinates the delivers of an exercise program as part of individual service plans.
  • Supervises Sr. DSP's, coordinating schedules to ensure best possible services.
  • Implementing and promoting person-centered service goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
  • Supervises, participating in new employee on boarding process, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists the Assistant Coordinator in assuring policies, procedures, and systems follow federal, state, and local regulations governing the operation of day habilitation programming setting.
  • Directly supervises Sr. DSP’s and DSP’s.
  • Interviews, hires, orients, trains and completes performance evaluations for supervisory staff.
  • Assesses and evaluates staff development needs and ensures that all such needs are adequately and routinely addressed through utilization of internal and external agency resources.
  • Directs and monitors all facility operations to ensure adherence to all agency and related policies and procedures, program standards and level of service commitments.
  • Ensures reporting of allegations of abuse, neglect and incidents to the appropriate external parties (Justice Center, OPWDD) and internally.
  • Work with Human Resources regarding recruitment, staff performance, conflict resolution, grievance and other matters ensuring adherence to agency policies.
  • Develop and maintain sound controls and systems for billing compliance matters in Precision Care computer software billing operational system.

Days Service Supervisor who serves individuals with I/DD must meet the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills also required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills required.
