Day Porter/Maintenance Assistant (Summit, Ohio)

JOB SUMMARY: This individual will work under limited supervision, performing a variety of general facilities cleaning, grounds, and maintenance related tasks non-technical in nature. This position requires the use of some specialized skills in the area of general maintenance. Tasks and assignments are basic in nature, however diverse, and require limited analysis.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilities cleaning responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Empty trash/recycling containers as directed
  • Spot clean main entrance and door glass daily
  • Spot clean and check/restock all restrooms 2X/day
  • Spot clean and check/restock all kitchenettes
  • General maintenance responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain building, performing minor painting, plumbing, electrical, and other related maintenance activities
  • Perform routine minor preventive maintenance tasks
  • Light and lamp replacement throughout facility
  • Notifiy IFS Regional Manager concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment
  • Other duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Distribute UPS, FEDX, and other special delivery items to the proper locations
  • Maintain neatness and cleanliness of grounds
  • Police grounds and flower beds (weeds) daily
  • Maintain mulch beds
  • Sweep parking lot and sidewalks where needed
  • Snow and ice removal of sidewalks and entrance
  • Perform other duties as directed by the IRS Regional Manager or Client Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent OR Trade School Certificate
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in related work

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILIITES

  • Basic administrative skills, including basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance
  • Maintenance aptitude with a desire to learn new skills performing facilities maintenance services
  • Ability to follow well-defined methods and procedures, requiring minimal training

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of climbing a 10-foot ladder
  • Ability to stand 50% of the workday
  • Ability to walk 50% of the workday

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
