POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Visualization Analyst is responsible for providing centralized access to information that helps business users answer questions and make real time decisions. The Data Visualization Analyst collaborates with various business units to translate business requirements into data visualizations that summarize performance trends and key measures in a clear and easy to understand format.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop Looker dashboards and maintain Looker infrastructure
• Collects and interprets business requirements and translates them into data visualizations
• Builds wireframes, mock-ups, and ad-hoc visualizations; reviews them with business users prior to report development to ensure alignment with business requirements and get business user sign-off
• Collaborates closely with business users, data analysts, and data engineers to develop design prototypes and continuously enhance dashboard content, functionality, and load times
• Uses Structured Query Language (SQL) to gather and summarize data from databases
• Assists in modeling data for end users in Looker
• Recommends and implements automation of reporting using Looker; identifies and implements opportunities to streamline and improve processes
• Continuously and proactively identifies opportunities to improve data quality and works closely with the Data Quality team to recommend changes to processes, policies, and source systems that improve data integrity
• Assists in driving business intelligence adoption throughout the business
• Troubleshoots production issues and performance tuning of Looker and associated output

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar discipline
• Three (3) or more years’ experience using SQL in a data reporting and analysis role, including proficiency in writing queries and data blending skills
• Three (3) or more years building business-focused visualizations and user interfaces
• Experience with data modeling and database management
• Experience with a modern data stack, including tools like Snowflake and DBT
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
• Demonstrated track record of prioritizing, multitasking, and managing multiple projects/assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Looker
