Work you'll do

As an Analyst, you will perform data intake services which may include digital evidence collection, data preservation and maintain chain of custody of physical evidence.

Day to day job responsibilities can include:
  • Learn Data Intake procedures pertaining to forensic applications and concepts
  • Track and record project workflow and milestones as required
  • Maintain chain of custody during transfer of physical evidence
  • Maintain detailed written work logs and case documentation
  • Perform data transfers preserving original metatdata of native files
  • Prepare client data deliverables
  • Perform quality control of work product
  • Provide regular project status and updates to Data Intake management team
  • Attend team meetings and assist in meeting preparation
  • Assist Data Intake management with various administrative tasks (e.g. scheduling)
  • Assist in the coordination with other EDSC teams to appropriately plan engagements to meet client deliverables/timelines, resolve specific issues and improve overall quality and efficiency

We are looking for player who is analytical and passionate about learning and working with technology. The ideal candidate will also be detail oriented, possess strong verbal/written communication and critical thinking skills along with the ability to work well with others.

The team

Since 2008, Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory has operated an innovative high-tech facility in Hermitage, TN for e-discovery and computer forensics work. The Electronic Discovery Solutions Center (EDSC) is considered a leader in the industry and continues to increase capacity, quality, and efficiency of Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory's electronic file processing by utilizing state-of-the-art technologies in a dedicated environment. The EDSC is a 24x7, 365 days a year operation, and we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Discovery practice and help drive the success of the EDSC.

Typically, the team has a 1 st and 2 nd shift representative. The hours for this role will start off as regular weekday hours (Monday - Friday) from 9:00 - 6:00 pm CST or 8:00 - 5:00 pm CST. Once role holder is sufficiently autonomous, there will be an expectation to move him/her to 2nd shift of 12:00pm - 9:00pm CST (Monday - Friday).

Qualifications

Required:
  • Availability to work under tight deadlines in fast-paced data production environment
  • Ability to complete required documentation: Chain of Custody, Digital Evidence collection reports
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operative and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot and learn customized proprietary software
  • Ability to update, edit or create documentation on Data Intake processes and workflows
  • Ability to travel up to 5%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of basic PC functions and Windows environment
  • Knowledge of networking and systems concepts
  • Knowledge of the accepted standards for digital evidence handling
  • An understanding of principles of forensic integrity in information acquisition and reporting
  • Experience with forensic hardware (e.g. hardware write blockers)
  • College Degree in related field
