Strong organizational skills required

Extensive computer knowledge is required, specific programs such as Access, MS Office

Knowledge of how to remotely connect to databases using SFTP and other data transfer methods

Must be self-motivated and have good problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Must have the ability to relate to people at every level of business

Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Job Goals:

The District Data Coordinator is the district liaison between the school district and the state of Idaho. The Data Coordinator coordinates data collection and ensures the accuracy of information submitted to the state.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collects and organizes pertinent data from programs such as SIS, ISEE, etc.

Checks for and corrects errors in the data collection process and provides accurate, confidential verification and transfer of data to the state

Develop and maintain coordination of student data, codes, and procedures

Suggest changes in student data systems between schools and the district office for district standardization

Prepare and submit data reports to outside agencies

Manages and manipulates student data to create required reports

Develops and maintains a strong knowledge base of federal and state mandates relating to data collected. This would include reading professional journals and newsletters and reporting pertinent information to the administration.

Responsible for attending building staff meetings and presenting material to building-level staff regarding data developments

Application support of data between district SIS data and third-party applications

Level 1 troubleshooting with third-party applications

Any other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and/or superintendent.

Minimum Qualification:

Ability to follow both oral and written directions

Ability to plan own work schedule

Ability to read and interpret technical documents

Ability to conduct training for district personnel

Ability to document technical procedures

General knowledge of computers, computer commands, peripherals, and various operating systems.

Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.

Skills in the use of graphic user interfaces.

Considerable knowledge of data management, policies, and procedures.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.

Ability to exercise independent judgment in correcting data errors or omissions

Ability to communicate well with school personnel while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies and status.

Perform the duties associated with the receptionist (i.e., answer phones, take messages, greet visitors/guests, address student needs)

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

This position shall be considered in all respects “employment at will” and the employee is subject to discharge by the District at any time without cause. The “employment period” and other descriptions and terms set forth in this job description shall not create a property right in the employee, and such are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what type of services will be required by the District so long as employment continues.

An employee working in this position shall, at all times, be subject to the direction of the persons to whom said employee has primary responsibility or said person’s designee(s), and at all times shall be subject to the rules, regulations, and policies of the District as promulgated by the Board of Trustees. Each employee shall be held responsible for having knowledge of said School District rules, regulations, and policies.

This position will be up to eight (8) hours per day; up to 260 days per year. Monday through Friday is considered the normal workweek. Emergency conditions may arise which may require attention at any hour of the day or night. Salary placement will be determined by the Technology Salary Schedule, as adopted by the Board of Trustees. All terms of employment may be subject to change, as recommended by administrative staff or as directed by the Board of Trustees.

Evaluation:

The performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Technology Services Supervisor in accordance with Board policy.
