Production Department Supervisor-Commonwealth Cooperage-Nights
Commonwealth Cooperage has multiple department openings for production supervisors at our new state-of-the-art cooperage in Morehead, Kentucky. Successful candidates should have the natural leadership skills necessary to build high-performing teams. As a Production Supervisor at Commonwealth Cooperage, you will be a valuable part of the management team, supplying the management and leadership experience necessary to deliver business results and operational improvements within their specific department. In addition, this individual should be strong at developing, coaching, and training team members to provide consistent high-impact business results at our state-of-the-art facility.

As a Production Supervisor at Commonwealth Cooperage, you will be a valuable part of the management team, supplying the management and leadership experience necessary to deliver business results and operational improvements within their specific department. In addition, this individual should be strong at developing, coaching, and training team members to provide consistent high-impact business results at our state-of-the-art facility.
Shift: (6:00p to 6:00a) Some overtime required
Compensation: $85,000-$110,000 based on experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead plant or shift production workers.
- Directs and coordinates activities associated with the department or shift production, including scheduling adequate staff to operate the line.
- Supervise all plant safety rules and regulations and provide safety orientation and training.
- Enforce compliance.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Employee development and annual performance reviews
- Document incident, disciplinary action, accident/injury reports when needed.
- Assist in developing job procedures.
- Inspect material for quality defects.
- Assist in the training of new team members. Develop a training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are appropriately trained in any area that they are assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or Bachelor's degree
- Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define the problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Some relevant manufacturing experience.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire your team and co-workers.
- Ability to troubleshoot the production processes and equipment.
- Computer literacy.
- Take the initiative to get things done.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
