We are currently hiring forwarder operators. Miller Timber Services, Inc has recently been nationally recognized as the 2019 logging business of the year by Timber Harvesting magazine. We are the largest private owner of Cut-to-Length equipment in North America. Come be part of a winning team.

No experience is needed! Miller Timber offers a training program for all operators. Our training is run by an experienced training team that will go over the basics in equipment operation and maintenance. With this, employees will also learn how Miller Timber works and the culture of the company.

Multiple working locations include Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado, Alabama and Georgia. Travel is a requirement of this position.

Average Annual Wage: $80,000 – $100,000

Hourly wages range between $22 – $30, depending on experience and location.


Job Requirements
Dependable
Self-starter
Must follow instructions
Have the ability to learn new skills
Good communication skills
Valid Driver’s License
Insurable DMV driving record
Must be able to travel
Drug free – including marijuana

Job Duties
Start work at 6am or earlier, Monday thru Friday (days & hours could vary)
Operate large equipment capable of carrying 22 tons
Perform daily forwarder maintenance and inspections
Picking up and loading logs on the forwarder bunk
Decking logs at the roadside and loading log trucks


Benefits package

Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance: Eligibility begins after 60 days of employment, then the first of the following month. (Example: Hire date is April 15th, 60 days falls on June 14th, eligibility starts on July 1st) We currently have 3 different copay and deductible options for the medical coverage.

Flexible Spending Account: This is available at open enrollment every year, which currently is set for January 1st.

Sick Leave: Employees begin accruing sick time on the first day of employment and earn 1 hours of sick for every 30 hours worked. The accrued amount becomes available on the 91st calendar day of employment for the employee to use.

Vacation: Employees earn vacation hours depending on length of service.

Retirement – 401K: After 1 year of service (and the following open enrollment, January 1 or July 1) employees become eligible to start contributing to the 401K plan. This is an employee contribution only plan at this time.

Company Vehicle: Operators will be issued a company vehicle and fuel cards to use for business purposes only.
