The Customer Service Representative role is based in Nedrow, NY and reports directly to the Dispatch Manager.
What you’ll get to do
- Receive product orders and communicate with dispatchers to properly service your market area
- Review orders for proper mix design, travel times, and correct job start times, and job or customer specific needs
- Collaborate with plant and operations personnel to ensure that the assigned shipping area has the proper resources, personnel, and trucks available to provide superior customer service
- Communicate effectively with customers to provide up to date information in regard to the company’s ability to meet expected delivery times and service
- Data entry of customer and job information, and run reports
- Represent the company as the liaison between customers and operations personnel
Essential Experience and Skills
- Strong computer skills
- Proven ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in the work setting
- Motivation and ability to work fluctuating hours and days in accordance with customer needs
- Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to handle external and internal customers with tact and professionalism
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Education, trainings, or certifications beyond high school
- Inside Sales, or sales experience
- Product knowledge in concrete or construction materials
- Bilingual
Work Environment
- Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
