Crisis Worker: Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist IV or V

Full-Time/40hrs/Non-Exempt/$31.50-$33.60 per hour (DOE)


Pay differentials offered - must qualify through testing or verification for the following special competencies.

  • Language Translation - Bi-cultural Spanish ($1.00 per hour)
  • Bimodal Bilingualism - ASL Sign Language - Interpret from American Sign Language (ASL) to English, and English to ASL. ($1.00 per hour)
  • Crisis – 5150 Certified ($2.00)

Provide emergency Mental Health assessments to consumers across the lifespan who are experiencing a crisis. Ability to provide in-the-moment coaching, problem-solving, coping, skill development, safety planning, and crisis intervention. Immediate response to emergency referrals. Must meet the following Education and Experience.

Must have current auto insurance, valid CA driver’s license, no more than 3 points on driver record. Education/Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience in a mental health-related field providing direct mental health services. Bilingual preferred, not required.


Classifications and Qualifications for MHRS

  • MHRS I, II, III: Associate degree +6 years; Bachelor's degree +4 years or Master's degree +2 years working with at-risk youth in a residential or mental health setting.
  • MHRS IV & V: Meets requirements of MHRS I,II, or III. Including additional requirements and experience outlined in the scope of work. *Job Description will be provided.

Rehabilitation Specialist IV - Meets requirements of Rehabilitation Specialist I, II, or III & consistently meets expected productivity percentage. Has a thorough understanding of clients with a multitude of challenging behaviors, & how-to best support/help them. Consistently gets documentation done within 24 hours.


Rehabilitation Specialist V - Meets requirements of Rehabilitation Specialist I,II, or III & IV, & serves as a seasoned staff to others within their program area: Willing to mentor, coach, &/or advise others in MHRS job roles; Is willing & able to take place of supervisor/manager when absent; Is a consistent model of professionalism, & exemplary Rehabilitation practices in client care.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CA Driver's License, Current Auto Insurance, Clean DMV Printout, clear background check w/DOJ, CAC, FBI, CPR and First Aid Certified. TB Test and Physical at the time of employment. Must be able to provide written verification of experience upon hire. Must have valid CA driver’s license, no more than 3 points on driver record. Bilingual preferred, not required.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position may work within ALL other agency programs, consistent with their scope of practice, on a as needed basis. In addition, may require occasional flexible work schedule to meet the individualized needs of each client and program.


Employment in the Behavioral Health Services require proof of Covid-19 vaccination or exemption per California Public Health Officer. All RCS employees are required to either have documented proof of full COVID-19 vaccination on file, or consent to weekly COVID-19 testing.
