What You'll Be Doing:
The Crisis Intervention Specialist will be responsible for the following:
  • Plans and provides mental health screening assessments
  • crisis supportive interventions
  • dispositions and referrals in consultation with the on-call psychiatrist and or with the coordinator for patients in crisis
  • Conduct crisis counseling for patients in crisis situations / bereavement
  • conduct comprehensive clinical assessment
  • assess for suicide and homicide risk in the Emergency Department.
This is a Per-Diem position : Varied Schedule
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelors degree required in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
  • Masters degree preferred. 2 –4 years Related Experience, knowledge of DSM- V diagnosis and psychotropic medications.
    Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Crisis Intervention & Prevention. Ability to organize, prioritize & manage multiple projects and follow through to ensure tasks are complete.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to identify and resolve problems, ability to work in a dynamic environment, and computer literate.
