The Crisis Intervention Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Plans and provides mental health screening assessments
- crisis supportive interventions
- dispositions and referrals in consultation with the on-call psychiatrist and or with the coordinator for patients in crisis
- Conduct crisis counseling for patients in crisis situations / bereavement
- conduct comprehensive clinical assessment
- assess for suicide and homicide risk in the Emergency Department.
This is a Per-Diem position : Varied Schedule
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelors degree required in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
- Masters degree preferred. 2 –4 years Related Experience, knowledge of DSM- V diagnosis and psychotropic medications.
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing. - Knowledge of Crisis Intervention & Prevention. Ability to organize, prioritize & manage multiple projects and follow through to ensure tasks are complete.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to identify and resolve problems, ability to work in a dynamic environment, and computer literate.
