Job Summary

The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for executing the implementation plan and providing subject matter expertise for the user base. This position will engage with CU clients on the design, implementation and support of their server and storage needs to align with current and future business transformation efforts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead or engage in the implementation of infrastructure products and solutions.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of technical priorities, challenges, and establish long term strategies and short term opportunities for engagement.
  • Utilizes exceptional expertise in building, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise systems.
  • Designs, installs, supports, maintains, and evaluates computer server systems.
  • Installs, configures, and maintain both physical and virtual computer servers; maintains employee network, e-mail, RSA Token and Key Card access accounts.
  • Assist in translating CU needs into functional design requirements.
  • Analyze proposed systems solutions to identify gaps, strategic or financial impacts and the risk profile related to the technical solution offering.
  • Prepare professional, accurate and thorough documentation for CU proposals.
  • Recommends and specifies the purchase of related products and services; keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements.
  • Assists and provides support to the other technology staff as requested including performing scheduled maintenance tasks, addressing vulnerabilities, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing user support, and specialized training.

Physical Actions

Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or relevant IT experience preferred.
  • Citrix, VMWare, Linux certification, preferred.
  • Microsoft - MCITP, MCTS, MCPD, MCA, MCSD, MCSE, preferred.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate, preferred.

Experience Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years experience in IT systems services required, preferably in a banking or credit union environment required.
  • Proven technical experience and understanding of IT systems, and industry best practices.
  • Experience in the design and integration of infrastructure solutions required.
  • Experience operating/managing a Citrix server environment.
  • Experience operating/managing Netscaler systems.
  • Experience operating/managing VMware.
  • Experience with HP blade systems preferred.
  • Experience operating/managing HP storage systems preferred.

Benefits

  • Farmers offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications and location.
    o CA Only: $90,400 - $130,700
    o CO Only: $84,880 - $113,000
    o New York City, NY/Westchester County: $104,560 - $130,700
    o WA Only: $90,400 - $151,250
