Description
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean for Operations and Strategy, the Course Coordinator works directly with the faculty for the undergraduate and graduate programs. This position is responsible for all educational activities and operations related to developing, planning, and running courses and course components, as well as supporting the implementation of new educational initiatives. This is an onsite position. Work for this role is performed on campus. Heavy workload during assessment cycles may require evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Partners with the faculty to plan and implement the assigned courses and/or course components, ensuring that the specified curriculum and educational requirements are met.
  • Communicates with course faculty about the instructional plans for teaching sections of the course.
  • Determines which resources will best fit the specific educational/instructional activities.
  • Works with faculty to evaluate and improve the methods and delivery of the course materials.
  • Prepares the course schedule, assembles the syllabi, arranges media services, schedules rooms and facilities for each of the course sessions, and manages student assignments.
  • Facilitates implementation of the syllabi in the electronic curriculum.
  • Works with faculty to develop and implement assessment materials and events.
  • Works with other members of the School and Library in a team-based approach.
  • Provides support for faculty recruitment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and manage complex projects.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Extremely well-organized.
  • Capable of working well both independently and as part of a team dedicated to achieving excellence.
  • Ability to work as partners with faculty and students.
  • High degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with staff, faculty, and students.
  • Astute and able to recognize issues of concern as they arise, and able to make recommendations to the faculty for solutions and program enhancements.
  • Above-average attention to detail and experience in completing a substantial volume and a large variety of tasks while prioritizing activities according to concept and understanding of the School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies curriculum.
  • Provide own transportation to and from meetings and classroom sessions when necessary.
  • Internet savvy with extensive computing experience including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Blackboard.
