Learning Services, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner is seeking a Part Time Licensed professional counselors (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) join our team for our facilities in Gilroy, CA. For more than 35 years, we’ve developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. We provide treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues and accident or sports-related head injuries.

Responsibilities:
This position provides psychological counseling services to clients, such as focusing on self-awareness, adjustment to disability, conflict resolution, problem solving, coping skills and managing suicide protocol.

Essential Duties & Functions
  • Using psychological counseling, the counselor assists the client in the development of skills and strategies to alleviate distress, resolve crises and adjust to current circumstances and disability.
  • Demonstrates ability to support clients in difficult situations (e.g. refusal of activities, medications, and strategies).
  • Works directly with the client and provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote the client’s success in achieving identified treatment goals.
  • Assess and implement suicidality protocol and provides crisis management assistance to clients and programs as needed.
  • Train/educate families, funders, employers, significant others as needed to support the treatment and discharge plan.
  • Completes therapy evaluation and interfaces with treatment team to set up initial treatment plan and establish priority treatment goals.
  • Develop and implement therapy services which meet the needs/goals of clients, the program, interrelate with other disciplines and supports ReMed’s philosophy.
  • Responsible for monitoring the client’s treatment plan and progress towards goals; provides problem solving, conflict resolution and revision of goals and treatment plan as necessary.
  • Assess, develop, and monitor, as needed adaptive equipment and/or compensatory strategies based on the treatment and discharge plans.
  • Responsible for teaching other team members strategies needed to support the client’s treatment plan.
  • Assists RCM and team in discharge planning process, assessing and securing needed services, modifying strategies for discharge setting, and educating caregivers.
  • Leads groups as appropriate, may include BI education, self awareness, problem solving, communication and mobility issues.
  • Participates in team meetings and/or provides necessary information and interfaces with treatment team to establish rehabilitation goals and coordinates treatment necessary to support client’s treatment plan.
  • Assist team in remaining focused on goals and discharge plan.
  • In collaboration with the RCM/Clinical Specialist/Director, identifies and consults with physicians and other health care providers outside of the primary treatment team as needed.
  • Writes monthly treatment plan reports according to guidelines and time frames in the Goal Writing manual and documents therapy sessions on session notes as they occur.
  • Records the accurate date and length of each client contact or service in the program file or monthly billing sheet according to program guidelines.
  • Prioritizes tasks to balance direct client treatment, staff communication, program responsibilities and written documentation.

Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in psychology, counseling or social work along with a CA license to provide psychological counseling services is required. Knowledge of neuropsychology, behavior and cognitive therapy techniques is also desired. Experience working with families and working within a team approach system is preferred. Excellent planning organizational, writing, and time management skills are required. The ability to communicate with families, professionals and coworkers is a must.

Pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000, based on education and experience.
