Please join us as Counsel - Vendor Contracts
We are seeking a mid-level attorney to serve as Counsel – Vendor Contracts in BBH’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) to support the Firm’s global purchasing of products and services. In this capacity, the Counsel reviews and negotiates a broad range of vendor contracts, including those covering software, hardware, hosted services, consulting, leases, enterprise services and market data. The Counsel will be responsible for advising internal clients on issues presented in vendor contracts, providing support and advice on contract interpretation issues, and for monitoring legal developments. The Counsel will also serve as an escalation point for the negotiators and junior attorneys on the Vendor Contracts team. The Counsel must be familiar with contract protections dealing with data security and privacy.
Additional responsibilities may include:
  • Attends and/or represents OGC in committees or other meetings.
  • Manages and facilitates use of outside counsel.
  • Creates and/or supports the creation and maintenance of templates, policies, procedures and playbooks.
  • Leads and/or participates in related OGC and Firmwide projects.
  • Conducts legal research.
  • Obtains legal opinions from outside counsel to support firm activities.
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited law school.
  • 5-9 years’ experience with drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction.
Knowledge and skills
  • Moderate legal and business expertise.
  • Knowledge of technology and technology-related contracts.
  • Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and bring projects to conclusion.
  • Ability to work effectively with various internal and external constituencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong sense of business and legal ethics.
  • Familiarity with financial services market data agreements, a plus.
