Counsel or Sr. Counsel, Home Services (Remote) Job at Sears Home Services

Counsel is needed provide regulatory and transactional support the Home Services businesses. Experience in home warranty service contract laws administration required (manufacturers warranty excluded).
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Deputy General Counsel to evolve, implement, and continuously improve the Home Services compliance strategy, policy, and practices for TransformCo.
- Identify, propose, and drive solutions to address risks across the Home Services businesses, products, services, and systems.
- Continuous learning regarding external business and regulatory trends, proactively keeping business partners and legal leadership informed of new opportunities or risks.
- Become an expert regarding federal, state, and local maintenance, repair, and construction laws and monitor government activity and legal, regulatory, or policy developments.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts on behalf of Home Services.
- Provide counseling on regulatory issues.
- Support regulatory disputes with federal, state, and local regulators.
- Support customer and subcontractor disputes related to Home Services.
- A licensed attorney with five or more years of sophisticated experience, either in-house or at a law firm.
- Comfortable with contracts, commercial law and negotiating to get the deal done
- Department of insurance home warranty contracts or service contracts administration experience (manufacturers warranties excluded).
- Great at writing, and able to make complex legal things easy to understand
- Comfortable with research and analysis of statutes and regulations
- Adaptable, and eager to learn and do new things
