Job Description


Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Cost Manager within our Real Estate team to support on a range of high-profile commercial fit out and refurbishment projects. The position is to work within a team of 30 Cost Managers supporting a number of blue-chip banking and tech clients.

The individual must be self-motivated and client facing with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. This will involve establishing early budgets, early estimating, and cost planning, managing a design team to the budget, tendering and procurement (single and two stage) and post contract reporting to the Client.

  • Implement, administer and maintain cost control system and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts for projects of medium complexity and value
  • Assist or lead in the preparation and review of construction cost estimates
  • Provide cost information to support decision and alternative selection
  • Evaluate contractor invoices prior to submission into client Finance systems for pre-approval
  • Utilize information from SAP (or similar) and input to cost report and validation of spending
  • Evaluate and analyze fee proposals / bids and provide recommendation for decision making
  • Provide forecasts and cash flow analysis
  • Maintain and manage the cost report and provide regular updates on financial position
  • Assist in the development, validation and maintenance of the project schedule
  • Assist in developing reporting tracking tools and generates cost reports on regular basis including evaluation of earned value
  • Support the coordination of the Change Management process for the project
  • Build intricate spreadsheets to enable fast and accurate data manipulation of large datasets
  • Extract data from several sources, transforming it to fit operational needs
  • Reconcile data to support complete accuracy and creates a clean audit trail
  • Stakeholder management through chairing of client meetings, presenting findings from the data reported on by vendors within region.
  • Publishing and presenting monthly reports, monthly program dashboards and bi-weekly status reports.
  • Regular interaction with vendor representatives working collaboratively with each vendor to ensure they are able to effectively report on their projects.
  • Producing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) or detail cost estimates for projects at every design stage.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience
  • BSc- Quantity Surveying, Construction management optional or equivalent
  • A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
  • Degree or HNC level qualification
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize more than one project at a time.
  • Experience in delivering fit out projects for corporate clients
  • Utilizing digital software for delivery of cost management services
