STS Staffing is working with an industry leader to fill immediate, direct-placement, positions for Cost Accountant in Freeport, IL. Cost Accountant collects and studies data to determine costs of business activity such as material purchases, labor, overhead and inventory. This opportunity comes with great pay and benefits.

Shift - 1st

Pay - 60k - 70k

Job Summary: The Cost Accountant collects and studies data to determine costs of business activity such as material purchases, labor, overhead and inventory.

Provides to management daily key performance reports compared to targets.

Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials or manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs and to set standards.

Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and provides periodic reports comparing actual production information to standard costs and to budgets.

Performs journal entries and necessary functions for monthly general ledger financial close process.

Performs key roles during annual budget process and for year-end physical inventory.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting

Must have working knowledge of Cost Accounting principles, practices and procedures.

Strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience required

Advanced written and oral communication skills

Able to work cross functionally with Engineers and manufacturing managers

Be self-driven and be able to multi-task

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
