JOB DESCRIPTION:

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Product Development Associate, C&S & Knitwear to join the Product Development team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under mentorship of manager, take on ownership of Cut and Sew category- working collaboratively with design, raw material, and technical teams. Take lead on communications with factory
  • Assist on fully fashion Sweater category as needed under guidance of manager- writing yarn PO, pulling yarn prices, requesting and tracking samples.
  • Work with Marc Jacobs pattern room to sew first samples as needed
  • Manage development proto garment fittings; arranging fit model, taking notes, and coordinating follow up to make sure all details are passed on time
  • Manage raw material sample fabric ordering for cut and sew qualities vertically sourced
  • Achieve development calendar dates set forth by manager and give status in weekly meetings
  • Successfully keep multiple season workflows organized and multitask within a creative driven environment
  • You have an ability to influence design team for required needs
  • Detail oriented and able to foresee issues before they happen
  • Working within a PLM system, build and maintain the BOM from development through to bulk approval stats
  • Request and track samples throughout development process and be aware of their status with clear charts to keep cross functional teams up to date
  • Organize material library seasonally and work with factories to get relevant price / information needs
  • Handle category package shipments and deliveries for development

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in relevant field
  • Knowledge of garment / pattern construction with an ability to interpret sketches. CNS and Knitwear knowledge a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of CNS printing techniques – screen, digital, transfer etc
  • Strong with computers, able to learn new programs and work within cloud sharing. Working knowledge of excel required. Added plus for PLM and Adobe programs (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Self-starter, eager to get involved

SALARY & BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position ranges from $60k - $70k (annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
