Position Overview

Essential Duties

  • Support the administration and maintenance of the system core for all branches. Responsible for the enhancement of programs relating to the core and infrastructure.
  • Lead and perform troubleshooting and triage during service failure scenarios and participate in detailed investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Develop process automation and connecting disparate applications.
  • Maintain security of all systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver on the Credit Union’ Service Promises in every service situation.
  • Coordinates and assists in overseeing the maintenance, security, stability, and support of the core infrastructure.
  • This support will include developing and maintaining effective and scalable code, maintaining a proper maintenance schedule, and maintaining detailed and accurate system and procedural documentation.
  • Coordinates testing and maintenance with third party vendor.
  • Provide technical expertise as a team member in the development and operational support of infrastructure systems and services.
  • Lead helpdesk staff when needed troubleshooting computer and/or software problems relating to the core.
  • Work with team members to find creative, innovative solutions to problems using automation
  • Prioritize requests as well as the ability to escalate requests to other IT staff members and/or our vendor support teams.
  • Work with the business units to enhance end user productivity. Modify software systems and improve on automation as requested.
  • Ensure effective and efficient maintenance and operations workflow and practices to help improve availability and performance of systems and dependent environments.
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
  • Exemplify superior time management skills and capable of working productively with minimal supervision
  • Document all software procedures, settings, and configurations.
  • Schedule and ensure successful execution of all batch jobs as well as reports.
  • Keeps management well informed of activities and of any significant problems.
  • Maintain security of software system and its procedures.
  • Attend educational functions as required, especially those related to job duties.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of all credit union products and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Must maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Routinely clean and disinfect work areas (i.e. teller stations, desk surfaces, phones, electronic equipment).
  • Protect the confidentiality of credit union staff and members by locking door or removing items from desk/workstation when away.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with programming: Javascript, CSS, Repgen, SQL, powershell and other languages are beneficial.
  • 3 years of experience with automation and integrating systems
  • Experience with IBM AIX or Linux.
  • Understanding of IT operations and security (social engineering, hashing/encryption, viruses, spyware, etc.).
  • Have a working knowledge of credit union operations preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a variety of computer hardware and software packages, along with other office equipment.

Experience

Preferred
  • 3 year(s): Experience with programming: Javascript, CSS, Repgen, SQL, powershell and other languages are beneficial.
  • 3 year(s): Experience with automation and integrating systems
  • Experience with IBM AIX or Linux
