Required Travel: Traveling to other NorthShore sites when needed
Position Overview
We currently seek a Chaplain to assume a Coordinator position for our Spiritual Care and Support Department located at Highland Park Hospital. This is a full-time (40hrs/wk) position and is benefit eligible. Hours will be 8:30am – 5:00pm.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Provide spiritual care to patients and their loved ones and to hospital staff
  • Coordinate Spiritual Care and Support services at Highland Park Hospital
  • Participate in the Spiritual Care and Support Leadership Team which is responsible for ensuring 24/7 Chaplain coverage at the NorthShore hospitals
  • Assist the Director in managing and mentoring Resource/On-Call Chaplain staff who work the off-hours shifts at the Evanston and Skokie hospitals and at the Glenbrook and Highland Park hospitals
  • Assist the Director in managing Spiritual Care and Support Volunteers who work weekdays at the four NorthShore hospitals
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Master of Divinity degree or equivalent degree
  • Board-Certification or Certification-eligible in the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC)or comparable certifying organization
  • Commissioning and good standing with endorsing religious community
  • Minimum two years of post-graduate chaplaincy experience in an acute-hospital setting
  • Minimum two years of post-graduate chaplaincy experience in end-of-life spiritual care
  • Demonstrated leadership, management and education skills, health care setting preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and adherence to practice standards and ethics of professional discipline, including patient confidentiality
  • Spanish-speaking preferred
