JOB SUMMARY:


Instructional Technology & Innovation Coordinator drives the digital transformation of schools through focused professional development and implementation of technology initiatives that support student achievement through all content areas K-12.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Structures and executes professional development of staff in the use of instructional technology to support the district technology plan and school improvement plans.
  • Retrieves and analyzes student achievement and growth data to drive collaboration of various stakeholders, technology implementation decisions, and needed professional development.
  • Collaborates with school leadership to support the use of technology in the delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods (one-to-one, blended learning, Schoology Learning Management System (LMS) etc).
  • Leads the continued implementation of the district LMS by collaborating with and providing support to district and school stakeholders. This includes development of instructional course content and assessments, professional learning, and future action planning.
  • Responsible for system administrator role with the LMS including collaboration with IT for rostering, troubleshooting issues, supporting integrations, supporting gradebook passback with SIS, etc.
  • Supports management and oversight of the curriculum review process.
  • Supports the Office of Academic Achievement with data integration for program management including but not limited to phonics, science of reading, dyslexia.
  • Supports academic and professional learning for district technology programs including Edgenuity Pathblazer, Schoology, Discovery Education, Pearson Easy Bridge,by providing training, usage data, and troubleshooting.
  • Retrieves and analyzes digital learning software implementation data and student achievement data, observes and provides feedback on the use of technology applications within classrooms to determine impact, level of student application, and professional development needs.
  • Supports the creation of digital courses and groups including learning activities and assessments aligned to standards.
  • Develops staff in technology leadership roles across schools.
  • Collaborates with OAA and schools to design innovative instructional programs to support academic achievement and track outputs and outcomes related to the various innovations’ implementation plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Academic Achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Certification:

A valid clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate is required.


Experience:

Minimum of five years successful experience as a teacher with a demonstrated ability to utilize instructional technology and train others is required. At least two years of coaching and/or school-based leadership experience is preferred. Preferred experience with developing online/virtual learning. Developing innovative instructional models to increase student achievement including scheduling innovations preferred. Knowledge of best practices in ESOL, Gifted, MTSS, IB, and Tier 1 instruction to provide a solid foundation for integration of instructional technology into core subject areas is preferred.


Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to use a variety of technologies through coursework, workshop participation, completed projects and implementation with student and adult learners.
  • Demonstrate understanding of programs including PYP/MYP/DP/CP through certified workshop participation.
  • Demonstrated ability to retrieve and analyze student achievement and growth data for the purpose of planning instruction, determining professional development needs and creating opportunities to successfully integrate technology and software programs to support student learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to support learning and integrate technology into the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of use of learning management systems (LMS) for instructional content delivery.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the unique needs of adult learners and successful implementation of professional learning programs to support their growth.
  • Demonstrated capacity to be self-directed, organized, and collaborative.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.


Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally quiet to moderate. The employee is frequently required to interact with the public and other staff. The employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
