POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests.

General duties of senior living housekeeper position include dusting, cleaning, mopping floor sand furniture, washing, and cleaning trash cans, keeping inventory of cleaning supplies and doing laundry.

An ideal candidate for senior living housekeeper position should be polite, compassionate along with a professional attitude and neat appearance. Exceptional time management skills, decision making ability, dexterity and cleaning ability are also very important for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position

Essential Functions

1. Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization through positive communication and leadership.

2. Contribute to Community relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with

residents, families, fellow associates, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors or persons.

3. Contribute to team effort by being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing support; by taking

initiative; and by understanding how this position affects and. compliments all other Community

positions.

4. Able to maintain work pace appropriate to given workload. Perform activities on schedule while

5. maintaining regular attendance and punctuality within specified tolerance. Prepare salads, bake desserts, and complete menu meals on time and without the direct supervision of the Dining Services Director.

6. Reads, interprets, and follows production sheets.

7. Safely operate all kitchen equipment and dishwashing machine.

8. Clean and sanitize ovens, grill, workspace, and cooking utensils.

9. Check food orders delivered against invoice.

10. Be available for weekend coverage and on-call situations assigned on a rotating basis.

11. Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting.

12. Perform other related assignments as required.

13. Be familiar with Skilled Management Policies & Procedures Manual and Skilled Management Associate Handbook.

14. Be prepared to work in any area of the department.

22. Observe standard precaution procedures and all safe workplace measures.

23. Report any suspected or observed abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property or funds of a

resident to the appropriate licensing agencies.

24. Perform duties under the direction of a licensed nurse, within the scope of certified practices, and

within verified skills competency.

25. Pursuant to state regulations must remain awake.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent in this position has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate and at least two years’ experience

· with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety, sanitation, and menu preparation in a

· restaurant, health care facility, or institution.

  • Speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.

Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
