We are currently seeking a Controller to join a highly regarded law firm in Charlotte. In this role the Controller to lead the financial operations and strategies of the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the management team to create and execute budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Manage the relationship with the firm's external auditors and provide them with the necessary information and support to complete their annual audit.
• Identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies to continuously improve the firm's financial performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a financial management role, with experience in a law firm or professional services firm preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound financial decisions based on data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
