Amaterra is looking for a Controller to join the team! As the Controller, you will lead the general accounting and personnel compliance for the Winery, Restaurant, Events, and Retail Sales. This position will oversee Food and beverage stock controls as well as Labor cost analyses and controls. You will continuously study weaknesses in controls implemented in the restaurant and recommend improvements. You will provide guidance and coaching to the team and work cross-functionally across all revenue lines to ensure accurate reporting of financial information. In addition, this position will ensure the financial control environment is strong, sustainable, and supportive of a growing hospitality company. Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Will be passionate about wine, winemaking, and providing a customer-centered food and wine experience.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA, CPA or CMA designation Preferred.
  • Will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working for a full-service restaurant company (food and alcohol, Events, and Retail) with multiple lines of business
  • Will have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including financial reporting, Food Costing, Inventory Control, and Labor Costing in the restaurant or hospitality industry. Direct supervisory experience overseeing basic accounting groups is required;
  • Must have knowledge and experience with various external Accounting, Payroll, POS, and Administrative software platforms
  • Will have experience managing in-house Accounting and Finance functions through a stand-alone in-house dedicated staff
