Position Description: This position provides an important role in the provider contracts department by assisting the manager in preparation and review of provider and managed care contracts. Assists in drafting the financial portion of the contracts, enters specific contract data into the organization’s electronic database with great attention to detail; assures all contract specific information is entered correctly and tracked to support an accurate provider payment system.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for drafting, developing, and monitoring provider and managed care contracts for provider network to include rates and reimbursement arrangements and ensuring compliance and adherence to regulations set forth in North Carolina General Statute and Rules regarding financial operations of public entities.
  • Manages and maintains amendments, agreements, and contact files daily; ensures all documents are filed correctly in Microsoft One Drive.
  • Enters contract information into the contract data base; confirms loaded correctly, timely and meets legal and business standards.
  • Enters provider fee setup information and provider demographic data into the agency billing IT system.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with providers through email correspondence and telephone calls.
  • Enters contract information assuring appropriate funding and funding sources for contracts, etc.
  • Develops and maintains professional and productive relationship with co-workers and internal departments.
  • Responsible for verifying that provider network submitted required documents that are in compliance with contract limits.

Required Training and Education: An associate degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related degree and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of experience working in a provider contracting or relations/payer contracting or relations/managed care contracting, or health plan role, or High School graduate with four years of work experience in a provider contracting or relations/payer contracting or relations/managed care contracting, or health plan role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
