Job Description and Qualifications


Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a Contract Accountant at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

As a Contract Accountant, you’ll be part of a team that is responsible for the administration and accounting activities for tonnage gas contracts on a global basis.

Responsibilities
  • Read and collaborate with Commercial, Operations, and Energy teams on contract intent/interpretation
  • Initiate contract setup in SAP to facilitate billing
  • Structure and receive data from operating facilities to facilitate billing and accounting activities
  • Work with Commercial, Operations, and Energy teams to structure contracts to achieve appropriate cost to administer
  • Plan, implement, and lead efforts to resolve cross-functional process issues
  • Communicate with analysts to coordinate monthly forecast and actual business results development
  • Perform monthly close responsibilities for assigned contracts/operating facilities
  • Prepare required Quarterly/Annual financial schedules
  • Complete analysis of account balances ensuring validity and integrity of Balance Sheet
  • Perform control procedures consistent with Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years accounting experience
  • CPA a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally
  • Strong critical reading, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience working in a multi-functional team environment a plus
  • Prior experience reading and interpreting contracts also a plus
