Our Memphis office is looking for an experienced continuous improvement professional to join our Finance Process Improvement Team.

We are looking for a self-starter, creative problem solver, and strong communicator who thrives on new challenges and has an achievement-oriented mindset. You will have a keen interest in continuous improvement, bringing innovation and automation to financial processes, and have strong analytical skills.

The primary responsibilities of this role will be to support the ongoing development, implementation, and optimization of the Finance operating model for West Fraser as part of the Finance Transformation. You will work closely with the finance leadership team to identify and implement process improvement opportunities within all functions in finance. This team designs, tests, documents, and implements financial process improvements, new finance modules, and assists with system upgrades or conversions. You will identify improvement areas through your interactions with various business partners and bring these ideas to the Finance Process Improvement Team. Your focus will be on standardizing processes, maximizing efficiencies, simplifying tasks, driving consistency and automation across our organization. Projects will be assigned by a steering committee and can include a wide range of initiatives within finance.

Key Duties:

  • Identify and help prioritize process improvement opportunities for the design, development, and simplification of processes and workflows. Supports the re-engineering of processes to streamline, automate, and identify technical requirements.
  • Demonstrate expertise of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to deliver measurable and sustainable business results. Assist in project qualification selection and building of the project pipeline in coordination with the finance transformation strategy.
  • Keep abreast of industry innovations and identify and bring leading practices to support improvements and communication of initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Drive progress and identify obstacles to provide solutions while maintaining appropriate levels of communication with internal business partners and stakeholders. Analyze complex opportunities and problems from a broad functional and cross-business perspective.
  • Provide project business systems analysis services and serve as a liaison between the finance team, technology organization, internal and external partners. This includes identifying project requirements during the analysis phase of a project.
  • Communicate and address change management plans. Evaluate options for future design changes and deployment of solutions. Adopt and establish best practices as new systems and automation are implemented.
  • Support the development of appropriate metrics to monitor enhancements and maintain performance

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, management, finance, or equivalent business experience, (An advanced degree is a plus)
  • 5-7 years of relevant job experience in business process improvement, business transformation, project management, technology management, IT, or continuous improvement
  • Preferred Certifications/Licensures: (i.e., Lean Six Sigma, Agile certification)
  • Experience working in a SOX control environment is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • A detailed and proactive approach to work and a mindset for process improvement and efficiency
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, JDE, and BI reporting is considered an asset
