SMITH Environmental and Engineering (SMITH) is seeking a full-time Stormwater Inspector for our various construction projects. Applicant must possess a CDOT TECS (Transportation Erosion Control Supervisor) certification. If an applicant does not currently possess a TECS certification, then they must have at least 2-3 years of erosion control BMP installation experience and working knowledge of installation specifications. SMITH will assist in the acquisition of obtaining a TECS certification, if we feel the candidate is capable of performing inspection work and understands erosion control management on construction sites.

Job Description

TECS Supervisor will be responsible for inspecting various construction projects throughout the state for weekly and monthly inspections. Projects will vary in size, location, and owner. The inspector will make sure all projects are compliant with respective Municipality BMP specifications. The inspector must be knowledgeable of various specifications, including CDOT M-208, Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual V3, and those of numerous municipalities. Additional duties may include attending weekly meetings, and environmental pre-construction meetings, updating the Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), facilitating communication and compliance between the Client and Owner, performing run-off inspections after storm events, etc.

Skills Required

· Must be reliable and have the ability to show up to work daily and on time.

· Communication skills are a must. Must have the ability to communicate with clients and Management Staff. Informing Clients of findings that were observed during inspections.

· Time Management skills, to be able to manage your time accordingly, to inspect up to 4 sites per day.

· Organization skills, have the ability to create and maintain paperwork associated with SWMP notebooks.

· Must understand CDOT M-208 Standards, Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual V3, and enforce these specifications in the field.

· Report any on-site issues with General Contractor’s

· May be asked to work in the field with the various departments of our company to achieve 40 hours a week, if inspections slow down and cannot support a full 40 hour work week.

· Be responsible for the use of a company vehicle.

· Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMR.

· Must be able to represent the company in a professional and respectable manner.

· Report to Construction Manager and/or Project Manager
