SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Configuration Manager to be a part of the ECDU team to plan, evaluate, track, coordinate, and analyze all project-level configuration management (CM) activities.


Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement a CM configuration management process customized to support planning, identification, preparation, reviewing, releasing, controlling, changing, auditing, and providing the status of all technical data related to the system or equipment under configuration control.
  • Consolidate all of the items under configuration control into a matrix and works with appropriate personnel authorized as configuration control roles to note how the requirement is resolved.
  • Establish the goals of the CM process and effectively coordinates with appropriate personnel to ensure any configuration changes are identified, tracked throughout the life cycle management, status of each item is known, proactively engages with personnel to promote accomplishment of needed actions are completed to support development, production or fleet support milestones and deliverables.
  • This includes providing visibility to the nature of the change, the system or process impact, and traceability of not only the current revision, but the past fielded system versions and future planned revisions through the Engineering Change Control Board (ECCB) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) process (organization or customer driven).
  • Review released engineering change data and documents changes to ensure adherence to CM practices, policies, and procedures and with the required Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
  • Manage change processes to ensure methods and processes are properly approved, communicated, and managed throughout the CM process.
  • Develop and maintain a Configuration Change Notice which details any changes made to the original configuration (i.e. TI upgrades, field changes, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain a configuration report for each configuration containing the revision level of all software, firmware, hardware, as well as each document within the Technical Data Package for a specific configuration.
  • Collaborate with applicable personnel to determine change reporting process.
  • Draft required change documentation.
  • Perform periodic reviews and verify version release configuration items.
  • Provide labor estimates for various CM support activities as requested for budgetary estimates and project planning.
  • Use CM knowledge to develop, recommend, and maintain CM practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Train and distribute information to technical and managerial staff on CM practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the selection, training, and development of staff.
  • Lead and direct tasks assigned to junior personnel.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Six (6) + years of experience in configuration management.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of CM as related to DoD contracts as well as government contract technical products
    • Certified International Configuration Manager (CICM) Certification
