Job description
DAS Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineers with background in Configuration Management, product data management (PDM) systems and Technical Drawings (2D or 3D Models). The candidate will closely work with engineering leadership and teams on a multi-system enterprise environment focus to initiating Army’s digital engineering environment. The candidate will have expertise in technical drawing models, understanding change requirements to drawings and working within a PDM environment. Strong attention to detail of product structures of drawing models is desired to be able to identify discrepancies. Proactive approach needed for evolving priorities. Strong knowledge and awareness of DOD (ie. MIL-STD-31000, DoDD 5230.24) and industry standards (ie. ASME Y14.1) will be required to be used to execute and configure in Windchill. Candidates will be required to assist with the improvement of standard operating procedures and policies associated with the PDM System, Windchill.
Required Qualifications:

  • Deliver strong analytical skills, commitment to accuracy, ability to work with others within a team environment, and maintain amicable relations with internal customers.
  • Review technical drawing (2D or CAD) data for completeness. (Note: Majority in 2D, however, there are cases where we have 3D CAD drawings for systems). Completeness includes requirements needed for a complete technical data package.
  • Add/Change Distribution Statements (or other standard requirements needed in a technical drawing (working with engineers on statement correctness)- Able to spot issues.
  • Upload, configure, and link data in the process to appropriate identified location in the Product Lifecycle Data Management (PLDM) system, Windchill
  • Identify discrepancies of data in and out of the Windchill system (In container levels or outside of containers, configuration errors, etc.)
  • Assist with creating Guidebooks based on work done; Identify Process/Guideline improvements – update into a standard operation procedure
  • Initiate a review with the Weapon System engineering team for validation of the production and finalization of baseline configuration.
  • Must have knowledge in Configuration Management change control process
  • Must have knowledge of design documentation (ie. Technical drawings, specifications/standards)
  • Must have background with a product data lifecycle management system (ie. Team Center, Windchill, Konfig)
  • Must have familiarity with military or industry standards associated with technical data and configuration management
  • Candidate must exemplify proficient time management skills and able to work concurrent task requirements.
  • Assist in the review, examination, upload, and configuration of technical drawings and engineering change orders for continuity and correctness of data line items as well as analyze old data with new data for proper configuration management storage.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies and procedures.
  • Audit records and develops corrective actions to assure data accuracy.
  • Understand established procedures and best practices and executes to meet program objectives.
  • Provides feedback for organizational improvement.
  • Manages workflow to meet project deadlines/assignments to support day-to-day efforts for multiple programs.
  • Must have experience/fluent with creating guidelines or procedures using Microsoft office
  • Capable of providing customer with verbal guidance/troubleshooting on established guidelines.

Pay: $69,642.48 - $175,649.56 per year
