Position Summary: The Compounding Assistant performs, leads, and assigns the activities of the compounding department to ensure performance expectations and production schedules are met timely and with the highest level of quality. This position reports to the Compounding Supervisor.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately completing batching work orders.
  • Recording raw material quantities and lot numbers.
  • Submitting samples of finished formula to QC for approval, to ensure batches meet required specifications before releasing to liquids for packaging.
  • Record corrected drum quantities on raw materials.

Organize work area, clean assigned work area.

  • Compliance and safety of the department.
  • Read and interpret daily/weekly schedules and work independently.
  • Set up/Changeover - Rinsing out mix tanks and providing water for liquids to rinse equipment.
  • Ensure rinse water and waste drums are labeled properly to prevent contamination during the batch process and compliance.
  • Maintain Equipment - Replace and maintain hoses, gaskets and connectors as needed. Trouble shooting pumps.
  • Tanker truck unloading - assistance in unloading tanker trucks.
  • Providing samples and COA to QC for approval.
  • Follow safety rules and housekeeping standards.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Physical Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to move/lift cases weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand/walk up to 8 hours per shift
  • Previous Compounding/Forklift Driver experience preferred
  • Previous manufacturing experience, including machine operator experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills, read, write and understand English
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner.
  • Maintain equipment and perform safety checks.
  • Comply with all corporate environmental requirements.
