Residential Functional Support Specialist

Pay Range: $18 p/h and up DOE

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Residential Functional Support Specialist to join our talented multi-disciplinary team in our Residential Program treating adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

As a Riverbend Functional Support Specialist, you will provide support and outreach to clients living within the Riverbend Residential homes, promote resident stability, independence, health, and self-sufficiency for residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Be available onsite to residents at assigned location(s).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the residents of the assigned location(s) as a means of being a resource for the property. Coordinates and promotes activities that create a sense of community between the residents and the property.
  • Participate in the coordination of activities for participants of assigned programs, including facilitation of program events and scheduling of program activities (such as budget workshops, food distributions, health/wellness events and/or employment networking events.
  • Market activities to residents using pertinent information by creating newsletters, and email blasts, conducting phone calls, hosting informational meetings, and contacting residents door-to-door.
  • Organize special activities, facilitate groups and host recreational events to promote resident wellness; activities may include arts and crafts, exercise classes, tours, dances, or other activities as programs require.
  • Arrange transportation as needed for residents to attend various functions, programming, and services.
  • Assist the Program Manager with the training of new employees.
  • Assist in covering shifts within 3 residential programs if needed.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, public administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university; an Associate’s degree and three (3) years of demonstrated case management experience in social services.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check, education and work history verification.
  • A Valid NH Driver’s License, personal vehicle, and auto insurance or reasonable alternative for own transportation to do community-based work
  • Experience working in resident services preferred
