Community Support Specialist Job at Little Friends

We're seeking an experienced Support Specialist to support our growing team. This position requires a thorough understanding of our product offerings and established support processes and procedures and the successful candidate will be familiar with troubleshooting basic software problems, working in a fast-paced team environment, and handling multiple priorities at the same time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You are the primary direct care staff for assigned adult individuals with the responsibility of ensuring that goals and objectives in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) are completed.
  • Work with other Support Staff in the home to assist in the completion of day to day tasks, such as, budgeting, menu planning, community outings with the people that we serve.
  • Establishing a secure, positive environment that nurtures the individuals' needs, self-expression, and goals
  • Perform all the standard DSP responsibilities as well (as seen below)

DSP Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the individuals we serve and taking care of their needs, and performing housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Delivering individualized training and care for the individuals in compliance with healthcare professionals’ instructions and other specific guidelines.
  • Advancing individuals' decision-making, productivity, and participation in a range of activities.
  • Promoting independence in daily activities, such as work, learning, and leisure.
  • Facilitate individuals' inclusion in the community's experiences and activities.
  • Maintaining knowledge of individuals’ ISP requirements and needs
  • Complying with Little Friends policies and procedures
  • Maintaining documentation in compliance with company procedures.
  • Operating facility's vehicles in compliance with company policies and governmental statutes
  • Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs
  • Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities
  • Other duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.75 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Direct support: 1 year (Preferred)
