General Description: This full-time entry-level prevention worker position is a grant funded position under SAMSHA’s Strategic Prevention Framework - Partnerships for Success (SPF-PFS) grant. This grant is funded to implement the PACT (Partnering in Action and Change for Tomorrow) initiative to prevent the onset and reduce the progression of substance abuse while strengthening prevention capacity and infrastructure at the community level.This position will act under grant’s Project Coordinator and Project Director. Opportunity for training and certifications will be provided.

Essential Functions: Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Participates in the development of prevention and health promotion materials; social media and marketing campaigns.

· Conduct outreach to local businesses, schools, and other sectors of the community to promote PACT program objectives.

· Attends community events related to substance use prevention as a PACT program representative.

· Provides Train the Trainer certification trainings in several evidenced based programs and facilitates these trainings within schools and communities.

· Provide additional support as needed to coalitions within YES Community Counseling Center.

· Acts as a liaison with school districts and communities to streamline PACT program objectives.

· Maintains records from projects and activities and reports to Program Coordinator.

Skills:

· Possess skills in communication, especially verbal (including public speaking) and written skills.

· Demonstrates the ability to conduct professional interpersonal relationships, foster collaborations, strong partnerships, and team building to accomplish program objectives.

· Ability to maintain and engage community sectors via social media.

Preferred Qualifications:

Readiness and willingness to learn community capacity building, and substance use prevention.

Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience in public health or health education, and/or school counseling, psychology/social work/mental health counseling, and/or administration policy/planning or community/organizational experience in the non-profit sector.

Bilingual: Spanish preferred, but not required.

Amount of travel: Grant may require travel overnight and locally to attend meetings, programs and trainings.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
